What is SonicFileFinder?

SonicFileFinder is a free add-in for Visual Studio that allows a fast and convenient search for any file within every Project of the loaded Solution by entering the complete filename or just a part of it. The found file(s) can either be edited with a single keystroke or a Windows Explorer / CommandLine prompt can be opened at the file's location.

 

System Requirements

SonicFileFinder requires at least Visual Studio 2005 (Express Editions are not supported)

Installation

• Close all instances of Visual Studio.
• Doubleclick the MSI file to start the installation.
  Note: Installation under Windows Vista with UAC (User Account Control) enabled is fully supported, but you will get an Elevation Prompt because the installation must run using administrative privileges.
• After completing the installation, start Visual Studio where a wizard guides you through some finishing installation steps.
• You will find a shortcut to the SonicFileFinder help file in your Startmenu under Schaller - SonicFileFinder.
• You may take a look at the help file for a short description of the features and a small guide on how to get started.
